Blackberry Blossom Campground
Tent Campground coming!
July 2010 UPDATE!!!
The Bathhouse is finished and absolutely beautiful! Tiled showers, floors and sink counters make this campground bathhouse feel like a hotel for "glamcamping". Shower/dressing area is large enough that your clothes don't get wet and you'll have plenty of privacy room to dry off before dressing. Water is all mountain spring water, great for skin and hair. You're gonna love this super clean upscale bathhouse!
The dishwashing area is located on one end of the bathhouse. Wash your dishes in a double stainless steel sink and large pot scrubbing sink with hot water and a drain board, all located on a clean deck. No more doing your dishes in the mud, trying to heat water over a campfire. We've made camping easy, fun and safe. We also encourage composting and provide each site with a covered bucket if you choose to participate.
Recycle area next to dishwashing station for recycling glass, plastic PET #1 & 2, steel and aluminum cans. Just wash out & deposit together in the container provided.
The Camp Store at Blackberry Blossom is finished and stocked with everything you might need for a fun camping experience. Our prices are GREAT, not typical campground inflated. Our belief is that you shouldn't have to pay outrageously to enjoy a fun camping experience, even if you run out of an essential. You'll love browsing our store for essentials, gifts, rental items, local folk art, antiques and handmade farm quilts, crafts, jams & jellies. Grab an old fashioned rootbeer & a moon pie and kick back on the porch to enjoy the mountain breeze and view.
Rental items are available with reservation and include: Cast iron campfire cookware, propane camp stoves, battery operated tent lanterns, propane & camp fuel lanterns for outdoor site lighting, sleeping pads, dishes, tents. Call ahead for availability & reservation of rental items. Sooooo, what are we waiting for?
The business end is wrapping up, proper licensure, inspections, permits, insurance. When everything is in place we'll be open for business! If you want to visit us this year, please contact us and we'll let you know when the ink dries on the last of the formal paperwork. We're excited to meet you!
Our family will be offering a unique opportunity to share with you. We’re building a family focused, eco-friendly, tent campground. It'll be different from any camping experience you’ve ever had. Most of our campsites are creekside, all are under the cool forest canopy of Tennessee's Appalachian mountains. All sites are huge with plenty of privacy to stretch out.
When you arrive, you'll park at the camp store. After check-in start unwinding as you leisurely stroll to your site. We'll help deliver your gear to your site if you need assistance. No car noise, just the sound of nature, a child laughing, a cookpot clanging. Occasionally you'll hear a donkey brae in the distance, or the sound of a train passing through Unicoi, 15 miles away.
Showy Orchis, one of the many rare plants seen from the trails
Our easy to moderate hiking trails lead directly into the Cherokee National Forest. They're filled with native plant and endangered wildflower viewing opportunities. Rare orchids, medicinal plants, moss carpets, and gorgeous wildflowers abound in the cool, moist forest. Our goal is to protect, learn from, and educate other people with what God has gifted and entrusted us with.
Want to try tent camping but don't have the gear? We have rental equipment and fully set-up tent site options so all you bring are personal items and groceries. No fuss, no crazy packing, no setting it all up, just come and enjoy! How's that for Simple? Contact us for rental equipment availibility and reservations.
This creekside site is large enough for several tents. Large, private sites are what set us apart.
In our camp store we offer handmade farm crafts, quilts, candles, soap, local mountain art, jewelry, and camping essentials.
In season, our farm offers juicy, sweet blackberries, raspberries, naturally grown produce, plants, herbs and flowers. Our U-Pick berry operation should be open in July.
Enjoy our 100 acres of mountain heaven. Leave with beautiful, peaceful memories.
Pull up a camp chair, dip your tootsies in the cold mountain creek water, watch the kids find salamanders and crayfish under beautiful, colorful rocks. Stars are easily seen in our night sky with no city lights to wash them out. Bring your telescope, you'll be amazed!
While at our Campground, relax... really rest & rejuvenate, breathe!
Sit a while in a porch rocker and watch the world go by in a slower, simpler time. The view of the beautiful Unaka Mountains is your horizon. There are forest paths to explore, or just listen to the Wood Thrush in the campground sing his melodious song.
You can truly leave your hectic life behind. You're among friends, so come visit us at Blackberry Blossom Campground.
